Organized by the Nebraska Art Association (NAA) in conjunction with the Downtown Lincoln Association, Updowntowners, Sheldon and UNL, Jazz in June is a beloved Lincoln summertime tradition. Jazz in June’s roots go back 15 years, when the NAA created the event to showcase the beautiful Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery and Sculpture Garden. Also partake in the Farmers’ Market and garden tours. The jazz begins at 7:00 PM, the Market at 5:00 PM, and the tours at 6:00 PM.
June 6: Nebraska Jazz Orchestra with featured guest soloist Paul Glasse - The Nebraska Jazz Orchestra features a variety of traditional big band sounds and original compositions.
June 13: Saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi and The Jazz Factory - An internationally recognized tenor saxophonist, Jerry Bergonzi melds his smooth sounds with The Jazz Factory.
June 20: Rick Trolsen and Gringo Do Choro - A New Orleans-based trombonist, Rick Trolsen achieves a perfect balance of European harmonies and fantastic Brazilian rhythms
June 27: Corey Christiansen Quartet - A highly acclaimed jazz guitarist, Corey Christiansen has performed around the world.
