Nebraska the visitors. Need to jump off to a good start. The park played small yesterday, probably won’t happen today.

Anteaters (UC Irvine) are throwing a left hander. Nebraska doesn’t handle left handers well at the plate.
2 2 out singles and Nebraska has a rally going
Nebraska can’t do anything and they’re down.
G.I. Johnny Dorn is on the bump for Nebraska. Coach Anderson gambled and didn’t throw Johnny in the regional opener and threw Dan Jennings. Jennings didn’t go very far and we had to use a bit of the bullpen in the game. We won, but we need Johnny to go a ways in this game for us to have a chance.

I’m glad Kevin Kugler is back on Nebraska broadcasts on NET. He was banned when Steve Pederson was AD because his radio show in Omaha he wasn’t too kind to the previous regime.

Johnny hasn’t had many leads in his starts, now he needs to keep this one. He’s 6-1 on the year but he’s had about 5 more quality starts this year but the O hasn’t helped him out.
We’re knotted up at 2. Irvine is dinking and dunking us to death.
Nebraska is out of the 3rd after a horrible strike call by the home plate up. Right across the letters. Thats good in little league but not in college baseball.
Nebraska runs a football play to start the game? It will be nothing a football school. For all time.

UC Irvine does not have a football team. Hmm. Interesting.

Abeita throws a guy out at 2nd. At the end of the regular season, Nebraska was having some problems with guys stealing on him, but he shored that up.
Anteaters are out of the 4th.

Nebraska runs them selves out of an inning. Frustrating.
Nebraska is gonna have to come up with a run soon cause they won’t be able to hold off the anteaters much longer.

HR for Irvine. They’re up 3-2. That’s a problem.

We’ll have to go up against one of the best closers in the nation if we’re going to do this comeback thing. He’s a right hander, so that’s a plus.

Thats it. Nebraska goes to the losers bracket.
In the end, we got what we needed from Johnny but when you don’t get a hit since the 3rd and only 1 walk since then...you’re not going to win many games.
