Wok Around the Clock

By: Mr. Wilson on April 28, 2011
I hear Hot Wok opened recently in Clocktower Shopping Center at 70th and A. I know nothing about it beyond the name, and my google-fu isn't turning up anything. So I turn to you. Do any of you know anything about Hot Wok? Have you tried it? Heck, maybe I'll give it a go for lunch today. Or tomorrow. Or Saturday. Actually, any of the next three days would work for me. I'll be back with an overview-slash-review if I make it there. In the mean time ... who's got the scoop for us?

I went to Hot Wok when they opened on Tuesday (I’ll soon be their neighbor at Round-Abouts Restaurant). It was pretty good food with generous portions. I think it’s the exact same food that Zhang’s and Great Wall use. The menu board along the top of the order counter looks the same as it does in the other similar restaurants. The only thing that I thought was different from these other places was their crab rangoon. Hot Wok has really good crab rangoon. Their service was a little bit slow, but that is to be expected on their first day while they work out the kinks. They had a nice little crowd in there on Tuesday night when I was there. I believe the owner has opened and sold four Chinese restaurants around the country prior to opening this one.

If you like Zhang’s and Great Wall, you will probably also like Hot Wok.
