Wintry Weekend

By: Mr. Wilson on February 12, 2009
Woo hoo! Easy for me to say. I don't have to drive anywhere this weekend. The timing of this news amuses the heck out of me. Just yesterday I was complaining to a friend in Minnesota -- who has seen so much snow this winter he has had to shovel his roof several times -- that we hadn't had any "good" snowfalls in Lincoln yet this winter. I defined a "good" snowfall as 6-10". The prediction for tomorrow's storm? Six to ten inches. I'm also amused because I washed my car yesterday for the first time in months. I should have known a storm was coming by the lack of a line at the car wash on such a nice day. If we do get a good snowfall I think I'll take Robbie out for his first sledding expedition on a real hill. He'll love it, and so will I.

Where is this ‘real hill’ that you speak of? I know of none in Lincoln.

Jeeeeeesh negative nelly.  Maybe a little trip down a fake hill might put a smile on your face.  Don’t make me come over there and tickle your tummy.

I call shinnegans / poppycock on this storm.  It is nothing but the activist weatherfolk and their forecasting agenda to spread fear on us 😉

Dave, if you aren’t careful I’m going to change your screen name to Eeyore.

...and I guess that means I should change beerorkid’s screen name to Tigger.

Weather.com is saying three to five inches for tomorrow.

Sorry, Mr. W.

That’s great, but where is the ‘real hill’? I hate to be a party pooper when it comes to sledding, but I guess that’s what happens when you grow up with Madison, WI sledding hills.

If you follow the Jim Flowers Ejaculator model, it will be less than a cuople of inches. You have to take his prediction of 5-10 (higher than any other station), minus the days in advance he predicts it, divided by two, or something like that.

He’d save himself the trouble by just having each prediction range from dusting to armageddon. Then, he’d always be right.

I like how the word filter has been reacharounded on this thread 😉

That is hilarious, Fletch.  But I wonder ... did it get its name?

I’ve always wondered if there was some sort of word filter mechanism around here. I’ve always tried to keep my contents pretty clean, but the recent trend to boob-related postings probably reveals more of my true personality. I’m an R-rated person living in a PG world.
