Do any of you give a hoot about horse racing in Nebraska? Do you know anybody who does?
I ask because I can't name a single person among my network of family and friends who has the slightest interest in horse racing. But somebody around here must care about it because the Unicameral has spent a good deal of time worrying about it. So who (and where) are these people, and what's the draw of horse racing to them?

I’ll usually hit the track once a year for a lark. Some of my friends are regular attendees and the track seems to be drawing better crowds the last few years. That being said I wouldn’t miss horse racing if it went away.
I know a lot of people that care about horse racing. My hometown, Columbus, is filled with them. I know a few people from Lincoln who are interested in it as well. The draw? I would venture to guess at gambling with driving to the border.
The 1930’s called - they want their sports back.
