For all you south side Lincoln fans of Indian food - seems like The Peacock has yet to open, but is coming soon. The hoped for opening date is December 15, but it may be later. In the meantime, the neon light with The Peacock's name is still on, and the place looks almost ready for business.

My wife told me Sunday night that it was open because she saw people walking into the restaurant earlier in the day. Probably just workers getting the place ready, because it was closed when I drove by last night.
It does look like it’s ready to go, so I expect it to open soon.
Another new tenant for that mall will be LeQuartier Bakery in a few months, but they’ve decided to be further away from the other eateries. Their breads are really good.
Sweet! I love their bread but it’s always out of the way to swing by and pick any up. This is awesome news!

I just called The Peacock to ask about carry-out and the girl who answered the phone had to ask if they did carry-out. I asked if they had a carry-out menu and she didn’t know that either. I asked if she could fax me a copy of their regular menu and she said they didn’t have a fax yet, but that I could stop in and look at it. I guess I feel you should be prepared when you open a new restaurant. Definitely not making it convenient for those of us who don’t live nearby. I understand they just opened and need to work out some kinks, but also feel they neglected an important part of their consumer base. Hopefully they will get it together. In the meantime, I’ll continue to get my carryout from the Tandoor.
