Up Late Thinking About Summer
I was up late last night (and early this morning) finishing up a new homepage for UNL Summer Sessions. I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. My colleague Josh Heyer did the design and I did the HTML, CSS, and just a touch of javascript. I also snuck in a little easter egg. Can you find it?

The only thing I found was clicking on the sun to make the clouds gently float by.

I despise the new template and navigation area. In fact, about the only person who does like it, is the guy who came up with it.

I don’t mind the look of the template as a whole, though I don’t care for the actual interaction effect of the navigation area. It could definitely use some tweaking. But there’s no point for me to try fighting that battle. I’m not at the U any more; I’m just a contractor asked to work within the template’s constraints. I was around for the last redesign, however. Being part of that was an extremely interesting experience.
