Two Good Reasons to Eat Out in the Haymarket

September 20, 2012 at 1:20pm By: Mr. Wilson Posted in The Lincolnite Blog

Apparently there’s a rumor going around that Twin Peaks is planning a restaurant in the Haymarket. Twin Peaks is a “man food” restaurant that promises “Eats, Drinks, and Scenic Views”. And by scenic views they mean cleavage.

The Haymarket seems like an odd location choice for them. When you look at their existing restaurants, none of them look like they would fit in to a historical district like the Haymarket. For that matter they don’t look like they’d fit in anywhere Downtown. There’s much more of a 27th and Yankee Hill vibe. On the other hand, you know a place like that would do well with the college (and college sports fan) crowd.

I guess we’ll just have to file this one under “wait and see”.

Plus Tilted Kilt at Gateway.  I don’t like this trend.

It’s a fad, just like the self-serve frozen yogurt craze sweeping through town. It’ll pass.

It will about as well as Hooter’s did. I don’t think Lincolnites will pay super premium prices for average food and beer. Especially college students.

Ah, I thought the tilted kilt was just an irish themed sports bar. Suddenly have no desire to go there.

Their hiring process is a “casting call” and a waitress is a “Tilted Kilt Girl” and “entertainer/server”. That probably gives you some insight into what you can expect when you walk in as a customer.

I still find it kind of odd that Hooters didn’t work in Lincoln. Location had to be part of it.
