Time Machine: A Trip to the GI State Fair

I’m was a little slow to discover it—it originally aired on April 1—but the KLIN morning show’s spoof of the State Fair in Grand Island gave me a chuckle this morning. (Holdrege Senator Tom Carlson isn’t a fan.) It easily falls into the category of “it’s funny because it’s true”, and not just because of its portrayal of Grand Island.

That was pretty funny.  I’d give my left two lug nuts to see Fiddlin’ Pete!

Guess the Senator can’t take an April Fool’s joke.

Glad you liked the parody.  We had Senator Carlson on the show a few days after it aired and he wasn’t quite as critical after letting it set in a bit.

We then decided we needed to “keep it positive” in the words of Mark McGwire and re-did the parody as the Utopian State Fair in GI, which you now can hear at http://klin.com/media/mp3/STATE_FAIR_UTOPIA_finalMONO.mp3.
