The Memorial Stadium Billboard’s Last Days. Maybe.

This probably makes me a weirdo, but I kind of like the billboard outside Memorial Stadium that may or may not be coming down soon. I look at it every time I get on or off I-180. But let’s get to the real issue: should the City accept a $50,000 bribe payment to allow it to stand for another three years?

Can’t say I’m a fan of billboards, but since it’s up, why not take the money? The City needs the money and the billboard is already there.

Yes. It’s already there. If we could figure out a way to take in another $8,950,000 in bribes and kickbacks for things that are already in place, we’d have that budget problem nipped in the bud.

If they really wanted to piss people off, they would turn the billboard into a digital one that advertises Doctor John’s and Ray’s Lawn Service.

$50k for that billboard seems to be incredibly cheap, given that it’s probably the most-seen billboard in the state in the fall.  The city could probably get a lot more for it if they wanted to, since the ad company probably makes a killing with it.
