That Boy Ain’t Right
Mitchell Walton, is a bit of an oddball. He is a fan fan. But hey, who am I to judge? Sure, collecting fans is unusual, but in an absolute sense is it any more ridiculous than grown men fawning over sweaty boys and men who play silly games?
This makes me wonder if any of you folks have any goofy hobbies. I used to want a goofy hobby or collection, but so far I’ve got nuttin’. I don’t have any collections, and both of my “hobbies” (soccer reffing and web development) are actually occupations. How ‘bout you?

I found that whole piece to be quite odd, to be honest.

That reminds me of an article I read once about a kid that was obsessed with center point irrigation.
My only ‘weird’ hobby is computers, and that’s not weird anymore.

I have a small hobby of collecting Pint Glasses. It started in school out of the necessity to have some glassware for me and my roommates. Being friendly with many of the local bartenders I would ask if they minded if I slipped out with one of the pint glasses. At this point in my life I just ask if I can buy them off the bar and usually get them for an easy $5. I display them behind my bar and have 60+ glasses from my travels and growing. That’s as weird as it gets for me

Things I’ve collected over the years:
• Road maps
• U.S. counties I’ve been to
• Craft beer bottles
• Genealogical DNA test results

Sure, some of you have odd hobbies. But the little dude is 7. My daughter is 5 - I wouldn’t hand over $30 to her to buy a fan if she had 99 more at home. What the hell would I do with 100 fans in a kid’s room? Just sayin…

Yeah, it is a bit odd to be collecting that many fans at age 7, and I shudder to think how much space a collection like that takes up (plus all the dusting required!).
I have a collection of about 50 stuffed Barneys - it started out as a bit of a joke at work, and soon my cubicle became filled with the critters!
