Oh, It’s You Again

By: Mr. Wilson on June 2, 2010
One of the things I like about Lincoln is that it's big enough that you aren't constantly surrounded by the same people everywhere you go, yet you're likely to run into somebody you know with regularity. I know plenty of people dislike that latter point: they feel like they always run into people they know. They can never get away! Where do you stand on that issue? Do you like that you can go about your day around town and pretty much be assured of seeing somebody you know, no matter where you go? Or do you wish you could be more anonymous in your own town?

See what your friends and neighbors have to say about this.

I think it’s cool to run into someone I know, of course I’m not usually doing activities that I wouldn’t want other people to know about. I suppose if I was up to no good in some fashion, I wouldn’t want to see someone I know.

I know people that have said that and it always seems like such a silly thing to complain about. “OH NOES! Too many friendly people everywhere!”

Who have lived in much larger places and much smaller places and have chosen to live here because it is just right.

Lincoln: The Goldilocks City

By the way, these stupid “wait 8 seconds” messages are driving me batty. And I run the darn website! I’ve really got to figure out why those have started firing inappropriately.

I find that I have to wait much longer than 8 seconds. And sometimes, it seems like it’s harder when I am replying to a comment than to a post.

When I reply to a post, and get the 8-Second Alert, and go hit the back arrow, my typing is still there. When I respond to a post, as I am trying to do here, when I get the 8-Second Alert, and hit the back arrow, the post has been wiped out.

I was at the zoo for Wild Wednesday and ran into 4 people that I knew.  I’m constantly amazed at how “small” Lincoln is despite the fact that it is a fairly large city.
