Nebraskans Say No

Nebraska’s three Congressmen—Jeff Fortenberry, Lee Terry, and Adrian Smith—all voted against the $700 billion bailout plan that was shot down by the House yesterday. I suspect their votes mirrored their constituents’ wishes, but I don’t have any poll data to back that up. It’s just a hunch.

I’m a little surprised we haven’t heard more from Fortenberry on the issue. His opponent in this fall’s election, Max Yashirin, had a few words on the topic last week, but so far I haven’t heard a peep from Fortenberry. Not that he needs to speak up. He seems to be pretty convinced that keeping quiet is the easiest way to cruise to reelection.

I am simply shocked to see our rep reps not blindly following Bush or the current rep prez candidate orders.

Kudos bros and thanks.

I’m leaning towards saying we should not reelect any incumbants. I am glad they voted this way, but I see the bill going the other way on Friday after the Senate passed their version.
