Nebraska: The Drive-Thru State

Nebraska is often known as a flyover state, but we can also be proud to call ourselves a good drive-through state now that the National Motorists Association has ranked us #4 on their rankings of states by a variety of motorist-friendly policies. That’s good news for those of us headed across the state to Fort Robinson later this summer, though I’m not sure Emiliano Gomez Gonzalez would agree.

Until I get home to Oregon…...

I am heading home next week to see the folks.  Nice to see three of the four states where I will be traveling in the top four….......

Nebraska’s speed limit is awesome. And it totally makes sense. On the highway the safest speed for drivers is the speed that everyone else (or the vast majority) is driving at, and the vast majority drive faster not slower. We got this one right.

I think Nebraska is a good state to drive through, as long as you are white. Traffic on I-80 isn’t bad, and the higher speed limit makes it relatively better than other states. However, non-whites with out of state plates seem like they’re always targeted by the state troopers.
