Nationwide, But Not in Lincoln
After previously announcing cuts of 50 jobs over the next 3 years, Nationwide Insurance will eliminate an additional 90 jobs over the next year and a half. Nationwide’s current workforce in Lincoln is in the range of 700 employees.

This, in my opinion, is really sad. Allied Insurance used to be one of the best companies to work for prior to being bought out by Nationwide. Their headquarters were in Des Moines, and they had a reputation for being quite conservative… a typical Midwestern company.
After Nationwide bought them out they seemed to have lost that conservatism. Or perhaps the Nationwide “corporate world” corrupted them. So now, money is tight because of Nationwide’s loose ways, and Allied is suffering. Too bad...they were a good Lincoln employer.
