Nantkes in the News
First she was (allegedly) a drunk driver, and now she’s a procrastinator. This just hasn’t been a good month for Sen. Danielle Nantkes.

Well, there’s no alleged-ness about her being a drunk driver. She does have a prior conviction. Since she’s been caught twice, with ten years in between her being caught, I find it hard to believe that those are the only two times she’s driven drunk. Let’s just be thankful she didn’t killed anyone.
She should serve as a lesson for Nebraska voters. All it takes is 3,000 votes to get to the legislature. I wonder how many of those 3,000 knew she had been convicted of DUI, or cared anything more about her other than what she said in her campaign. I knew enough about the candidates running in my district (the candidate whom I did not vote for had qualifications consisting almost entirely of her being the weekend anchor for 10/11) to make an informed decision. Even though Amanda McGill was elected, I can sleep at night knowing I didn’t have anything to do with it. I’m not sure those who votes for Danielle Nantkes can say the same.

I think what you said a couple days ago about her stepping up and taking it on the chin in an interview was appropriate. The nasty comments in the Journal Star and questions about her behavior will only get worse until she does something to show that she’s willing to own up to her actions.

This article concerned me, especially the part about her supposed treasurer. On the heels of her alleged DUI it’s not good, but I would be as troubled if the car accident had never happened.
She REALLY needs some help.
