More fun times from the always-exciting Lancaster County Jail debacle. This thing is already a disaster and we haven’t even gotten to the construction phase, where no doubt we’ll see rampant shoddy work; the use of poor materials that don’t meet specifications; and cost overruns that push the price up at least 50%. I can’t wait.

I would love to see the numbers on the percentage of those in jail for non violent drug offenses. I would wonder if we would even need to build a new jail.
We are lucky to have a decent drug court system here. Expanding the program to allow more folks to go through the drug courts could be cost effective.

I would like to know how many are in jail for blasting “We’re Not Gonna Take It” by Twisted Sister at an inappropriate volume. Hopefully they all got pretrial diversion and their parole officer is that guy that play Niedermeyer in “Animal House.”
