Koso’s Going Down

By: Mr. Wilson on August 18, 2005
Matthew Koso doesn't stand a chance, now that Attorney General Jon Bruning has "leaked" that Koso has done the nasty with underage girls other than the one he married. In a fit of petty irresponsibility Bruning indicated that there are "many credible reports" to suggest Koso has mssed around with several young girls, and that such activity was "an open secret" in Falls City. I have two responses to that. First, why the heck is our Attorney General spreading hearsay and rumors? If he is going to charge Koso with crimes he should charge Koso with crimes. It is completely out of line for a major government official to engage in the equivalent of schoolyard scuttlebutt. If the rumors turn out to be false, I hope Koso nails Bruning to the wall. (And if they turn out to be true, good luck in prison Mr. Koso. You'll be there for a good, long while.) Second, it was an open secret? What the hell is wrong with Falls City residents?! If anything deserves a good WTF, it's that. That's right up there with the open secret in Crete that parents provide copious amounts of alcohol (and, erm, "more") to their teenagers and dozens of their closest friends on a regular basis.

Well, it is Richardson County we’re dealing with here.

Good point about the poor ethics in spreading hearsay.

Is Falls City really this bad?

Well, the guy who’s saying it was an open secret is Jon Bruning, nobody else.  Would be nice if he offered some particulars.  All the news articles about the Koso case have been rife with unnamed sources and unconfirmed claims.  Be curious to see how they intend to prove his guilt.  His confession by itself (assuming it’s not suppressed) is not enough under Nebraska law to convict.  I doubt the AG can force the girl to testify.  Looks like they’ll have to get a DNA sample from the baby.  Of course, they still have to prove it happened in Richardson County and that presumes the confession stays in.

To answer your question, I think its clear he is doing this b/c he hears voices whispering “seek a higher elected position in a few years Jon.” Its a no lose situation to bash a pedo (or alleged pedo) in public.

Anyway, poor old Falls City. First it was “Boys Don’t Cry” and now this.

Don’t forget the Michael Ryan Rulo Death Cult.  Richardson county is a strange and sometimes scary place.

Holy crap! I never heard of that one and just googled it.

I had forgotten about the Rulo cult. That’s a quality piece of Nebraska history.

Falls City is just a microcosm of what’s wrong with the world. I challenge anyone of you bloggers to name a city, state, or country on God’s green earth that doesn’t have it’s share of perverts, pedophiles, murderers, hate groups, and/or drug abusers.

As a former Falls Citian and current U.S./world traveler, I can honestly say it’s not been any better anywhere else from the standpoint of normality.

You’ll notice that the hack politician hasn’t charged Koso with anything else, despite being eager to find anything to convince the public he’s something other than the reactionary jerk he is.

OK…I’m not even from NE but I am from Kansas…this “case” makes me really sick to my stomach…I can see where people are shocked over the fact that a 20+ year old had a sexual relation with a younger girl which resulted in a pregnancy HOWEVER what I don’t understand is how they can place all the blame on the male in this situation (I’m female; this comes in handy to know), I know what statutory rape is and I’ve dealt with that whole scenerio before, I lost my virginity @ age 14 (1 day after I turned 14), I knew @ that time what I was doing and I knew what consenquences were involved with having sex, the main thing that I read in articles relating to this case is that she was “not mature enough or not intelligent enough” to know what was happening and that is complete BULL, she knew what could happen when she laid down and proceeded to do what she did…women age emotionally and mature faster then men (proven fact)and this young girl knew what she was doing, Matt in this case should not be the only one blamed, maybe the girls parent are to be blamed for not keeping on eye on their obviously sexually active daughter, my mother tried the whole statutory rape thing when I lost my virginity @ age 14 to a 18 year old man, whereas I do understand that eveyone is entitled to their own opinion it just disgusts me that all the blame is on Matt, they should really look into it further and see that now a days girls are loosing their viriginty younger than ever whether it’s to someone younger, same age or older then them…that’s what they need to take into consideration, I will say that in my case my younger girl/older guy situation didn’t end up w/ a pregnancy but we are still good friends to this day (I’m now 24), I think people need to take a really good look outside the box and look @ it from the other point of view because I have yet to see it done.
