The folks just up the road are having a heck of a time dealing with a soccer player getting shot at a middle school, along with gun-related incidents at an elementary school and at Westside High School. I'm sure LPS officials are awfully nervous right now, lest the trouble make its way down the interstate.

I have issues with the first comment post of the day in the LJS where someone poses a strawman of “lets just arm the students because thats what the gun toting NRA nuts want anyway…” Ummm….no, we want enforcement of already existing laws etc etc…..sometimes the level to which people will go with the suspension of guaranteed freedoms for a little bit of fallacious safety really chills me.
I haven’t seen anything about ‘Omaha-style violence’ in Lincoln since data collection for that survey ended. (And, shockingly, the results showed the number one issue for Lincolnites is safety). So until the next survey, Lincoln is going to be perfectly safe.
