Irradiating the Gene Pool

I nominate this for Least Responsible Marketing Effort Of The Month. image In case you can't read it, it's an ad for Alternative Tan that says:
The Greek house with the most tanning visits (regardless of number of purchases or package type) during the Fall semester will win $500 for the philanthropy of their choice.
Translation: The more you tan, the more likely you'll win $500 that you can then donate to the American Cancer Society!

The one that smarts me is Ashley Lynn’s facts about tanning and Vitamin D
http://www.ashleylynnstanning.com/alvitd.html

“Ashley Lynn’s is committed to your health and education about Vitamin D.”

What Ashley Lynn is not committed to is your health and education about skin cancer.  Or the fact that in order to increase your Vitamin D, you only need to expose 5% of your skin to sunlight for 5-30 minutes a couple times a week.

I had skin cancer when I was in my 20’s and find the irresponsible marketing that tanning companies participate in kind of disgusting.
