Has Anybody Been to Tokyo?

By: Mr. Wilson on April 8, 2008
I have heard exactly zero, zilch, nada about Tokyo Steak and Seafood House since it opened in March. The new restaurant is located in the Bishop Heights shopping center at 27th and Highway 2 in the former location of Bob's Gridiron Grill and Jax -- both of which I miss -- where it's easy for folks to forget about it. For example, word of mouth is what helped Bob's take off, and the loss of it -- plus the fact that they switched to fake mashed potatoes! -- hastened its doom. Have you been to Tokyo Steak and Seafood House? Do you know anybody who has? What's the buzz out there?

I saw the new awning.  As far as location, I fear for them.  The space is very cool, but that whole strip mall is gasping for air.  The shopko should be put out of its misery.

Me and Mrs. Wisco just went the other night and are in the process finishing our review to post on DINK review. We should have it done and posted sometime tonight but that

I second what Bork said. That whole center should just be bulldozed and redone or built for something more suitable. There’s no need for that Shopko with a nicer, newer one only 2 miles down the road. Is that Russ’s still open? Seems like overkill with a bigger, nicer one at 33rd and Highway 2. That Valentino’s play area has been trashed on here many times, and seems like a placeholder until they can get out of a lease. I’d like to see newer stores or something in that whole space.

I went with a big group of people this past weekend and had a great meal.  The owner used to be married to the owner of Shogun so it is very similar to Shogun for the Teppenyaki.  We also had some sushi and I thought it was just as good if not better than Shogun’s.

I would recommend you check it out!
