Government Comics Online

Damn you, Mr. T, for showing me this. I’ll be distracted the rest of the day. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you UNL’s collection of government comics.

It’s a great little collection of American propaganda informational materials history. Some are boring, some are amusing, and some ... well, as you can see from the image above, political correctness hadn’t quite caught on yet.

This stuff is gold. Tell your boss I’m sorry I caused you to be distracted for the rest of the day.

Thanks for posting that ... if you want more stuff like this, try and find the DVD “The Atomic Cafe” ... basically just a bunch of propaganda videos from the gov’t about how safe atomic bombs are, etc, etc, etc ... I think “duck and cover” is on there.  Things along the line of the original blog post.

Awesome find. Given how many comics there are, I would love an update pointing out maybe your top 10 discoveries (please?).

I’ll see what I can do. I’m swamped with work right now and I’m getting ready to go out of town, but a top ten list sure would be fun to make. Hmm, maybe I could download them all and read them on one of my upcoming long drives…

I personally found the “Grenada” comic to be enchanting.
