Is anyone else surprised there hasn’t been more of an uproar over the ambulance mess? Shouldn’t some heads be rolling?

Well, meatball, it all depends on your perspective. Ambulances are showing up much more quickly than they used to, on average. Is that enough to justify the other problems? According to her editorial in today’s Journal Star (I can’t find it online), Mayor Seng thinks so. Her stance seems to be, in short, “If you criticize the ambulance service, you don’t care about safety.” I’ll leave finding the logical fallacies in that attitude to the reader.

Wow.  First The Old Lady comes up with the creative, brilliant idea to put a Walgreens, fast food restaurant, and a bank at one of Lincoln’s busiest intersections (an intersection that, when finished, could be confused with most others in Lincoln), now this idea. The idea of having a gas station, though moderately creative, is quite bizarre.  I could think of other ways for the city to make money, such as not spending millions of dollars to put awkward-looking bicycles around town.

Thanks, Dave! The quote I referred to above was actually:

Unfortunately, some seem to believe that quality care should be less important than cost.

I wasn’t far off.

so instead of selling the gas at it’s already all-time high they could do one of two things:

1) sell it HIGHER than normal gas prices.  That will have them lineing up around the block for that gas.

2) sell it lower than normal gas prices.  Essentially undercutting private businesses.

Brilliant.
