Announcing inLNK.in
I took the day off work today to attend my great aunt Lucille’s funeral. She’s not the type who would have wanted us all to sit around moping. So instead, I decided to build something. Well, I was chatting with my friend Josh Heyer when an idea struck me. Thus was born inLNK.in.
inLNK.in is a simple little website that pulls in the latest tweets tagged with #LNK. Right now there aren’t many features: pagination (50 items per page), and simple search capabilities within #LNK-tagged tweets. Eventually I would like to create a simple API to allow Lincoln bloggers to quickly and easily install a little widget on their webpages showing the latest #LNK tweets.
Anyway, give inLNK.in a try. I would love to hear your reactions and feature requests.
Oh, and credit for the logo goes to Mr. Heyer. Thanks, Josh!

Sweet. Now all we need is a way to filter out people who tweet using the hashtag in uninteresting or inappropriate ways…

I have a few ideas about how to approach that problem. One is already in place: I can delete individual tweets. That does nothing for repeat offenders, of course. I’ll see what I can do.

All of the #LNK related stuff you’ve done lately is the coolest. Thanks!

Why do the pretty boxes overlap so I can’t read a lot of the white text from the blue boxes? Is that my outdated browser?
Mr. Wilson says RE: Why do the pretty boxes August 10, 2009 at 8:02am
Let me guess, you’re using Internet Explorer 6, right? I have nearly infinite disdain for that browser so I very rarely test my own projects in it any more. (I always test client sites in IE6, but only because I have to.) If you aren’t locked into IE6 by an unfortunate workplace IT policy or something, I encourage you to upgrade.
And I suppose I could crack open IE6 to see what the problem is, but only because you’re a good guy.

I added a couple small tweaks for IE6, and it looks fine for me now. Let me know if it’s still busted on your end.

Looks great now. What can I say? I’m old school. I use Firefox for a lot of stuff, but still use IE 6 for a lot since my work requires IE. I never took a liking to IE 7 and have hesitated trying IE 8. I know people like me are the bain of your existance. LOL
I still use XP for that matter.
On the plus side, I did buy a new Vista machine over the weekend for other purposes than my own. Since it’s got a funky new (to me) OS, I figured I’d download IE 8 - seems okay, but I like the way I can configure my IE 6 toolbars better.

Very cool. Got it up on my site. Had to tweak the width my 10 pixels to get it to play nice.
You cool

Nice! If I have time one of the features I may add is the ability for website operators to use their own CSS, so the box fits into your site theme a little less obtrusively. Or maybe I’ll just offer up some different themes. Hmm…
Anyway, let me know if you have feature requests or if it misbehaves at all.

You know this Twitter thing is just a fad though, right?
