20 Questions: Mother’s Day Edition

By: Mr. Wilson on May 11, 2009
By popular demand, it's time for another round of Twenty Questions! Today's topic: what The Wilsons did in Lincoln on Mother's Day. Don't forget the rules:
  1. The answer is related to Lincoln.
  2. The questions should be worded so they generate a yes/no answer.
  3. Each person may ask one question at a time. After your question has been answered, you may ask another one.
  4. Ask your question as a comment to this blog post. Do not ask your question as a reply to another comment (i.e. a “nested comment")
  5. Feel free to "talk amongst yourselves" by indicating that your comment is not an actual guess.
Go! So far we know:
  1. We weren't at home.
  2. It cost money.
  3. We did not eat.
  4. We were not outdoors.
  5. We were south of O Street.
  6. We were not at the Tour of Historic Homes.
  7. We were north of Highway 2.
  8. We were east of 40th Street.
  9. We were not west of 70th Street.
  10. We didn't go on a bike ride.
  11. It was not north of South Street.
  12. It was not in Eagle.
  13. We were at Paint Yourself Silly! Good tag team work, West A Dad and Nikkidemas!

Was it something at a place away from your home?

Mr. Wilson
May 11, 2009 at 1:02PM

Yes.

Nikkidemas
May 11, 2009 at 2:38PM

Did it cost money?

Mr. Wilson
May 11, 2009 at 2:41PM

Yes.

Did you eat?

Mr. Wilson

No.

Were you south of O Street?

Mr. Wilson

Yes.

West A Dad

He went down to the Triple Rock and heard what Rev. Cleophus had to say.

Hrmmmm non-eating indoor mother’s day activities…Star Trek movie perhaps?  Or bowling?  Shopping?

Fletch

Commenting out loud with Nikki. I have a kid Robbie’s age - not sure I’d endure taking him to a movie, and wouldn’t leave him out of Mother’s Day festivities. Bowling would leave only Parkway. Shopping is right there. There’s the library. There’s the Valentina’s thingie at 27th and Highway 2 - fun and games, and I guess you wouldn’t have to eat.

Still thinking out loud with Nikki and friends…

There’s also Lost in Fun at 14th and Yankee Hill Road, and the indoor playground near the Children’s Zoo (not sure if it is open on Sunday). The museum is out since it is North of O.

There’s the Bison indoor soccer place as well - maybe Mr W hasn’t had enough soccer lately. LOL

Just thought of another good Mom’s day activity:  Paint Yourself Silly - the 70th St. location is south of O.

Nikkidemas
May 11, 2009 at 4:25PM

Ok one more idea (if THIS counts as indoors)

Fletch
May 11, 2009 at 4:51PM

I like that. I’d guess it.

More guessing, less chit chat! 😊

Nikkidemas

Here goes:  Was it THIS?

Mr. Wilson
May 11, 2009 at 5:12PM

No.

Fletch
May 11, 2009 at 5:20PM

Were you north of Highway 2?

Fletch
May 11, 2009 at 5:20PM

I thought it was a good guess. Seemed like a non-traditional Mr. W kind of thing to do. LOL

Mr. Wilson
May 11, 2009 at 5:21PM

Yes.

West A Dad
May 11, 2009 at 6:22PM

Were you east of 40th Street?

Mr. Wilson
May 11, 2009 at 6:31PM

Yes.

Fletch
May 11, 2009 at 7:28PM

Were you west of 70th Street?

Mr. Wilson
May 11, 2009 at 7:31PM

No.

TrixieDelicious
May 11, 2009 at 7:42PM

Did you hit the trails for a nice Sunday bike ride?

TrixieDelicious
May 11, 2009 at 7:43PM

Oh yeah, that outdoors part.
Hrm.

Mr. Wilson
May 11, 2009 at 7:52PM

No.

(I know you sort of rescinded this guess below, but I’m going to count the guess anyway because I’m <strike>mean</strike> confident you guys will get to the right answer in time.)

Fletch

Thinking out loud… so, south of O, north of Highway 2, and east of 70th street. That rules out much of the indoor fun activities we had casually discussed. Were there any concerts or plays or anything at the churches or schools along that corridor that anyone would know of? I guess that the one Paint Yourself Silly would still fit in here, at 70th and Pioneers. There’s that gymnastics place on Pioneers, but I don’t know if they do parties or events or anything.

I’m thinking Mrs. Wilson was taken somewhere in the boundaries established and something was purchased for her. Like maybe a nursery or garden center? What say you Fletch?

Gene
May 11, 2009 at 8:25PM

Thought of that as well.

Fletch
May 11, 2009 at 8:36PM

I thought of that, too. I would consider a garden center to be outside.

Nikkidemas
May 11, 2009 at 8:55PM

Yikes - I hope it wasn’t a hospital visit!

West A Dad
May 11, 2009 at 9:08PM

True, I was thinking inside Earl May.

Fletch
May 11, 2009 at 9:19PM

Maybe we should keep narrowing it down by location. East of/North of, etc.

West A Dad
May 11, 2009 at 9:26PM

Was it north of South Street?

Mr. Wilson
May 11, 2009 at 9:34PM

No.

Gene
May 11, 2009 at 10:36PM

Maybe a movie? There’s Edgewood theatres within our boundary.

Ophelia_Payne
May 12, 2009 at 1:06AM

Was it in Eagle?

Fletch
May 12, 2009 at 1:12AM

Gene, Edgewood is west of 70th Street. No theaters remain in our boundary.

Mr. Wilson
May 12, 2009 at 11:34AM

No.

West A Dad
May 12, 2009 at 12:21PM

Was it “Paint Yourself Silly”?

Gene
May 12, 2009 at 12:55PM

Ah, I missed that one.

Mr. Wilson
May 12, 2009 at 1:05PM

Yes! Good work, West A Dad! (With a little assistance from Nikkidemas.)

The Wilsons spent Mother’s Day afternoon at Paint Yourself Silly in the Pioneer Woods shopping center at 70th and Pioneers. Robbie painted a coffee mug for his mom.

West A Dad
May 12, 2009 at 1:10PM

She should get all the credit. It was a logical choice for me after the answers to the 70th Street and South Street questions.

Nikkidemas
May 12, 2009 at 1:57PM

Nah, I didn’t have the courage to guess it 😊

I love this game!

Fletch
