A Moment on the Bus
An actual conversation from the bus ride this morning:
Two high school-age girls sit at the back of the bus. They are chatting the way high school girls chat. A high school-age boy, an acquaintance, gets on.
Girl 1: Hi, Boy.
Boy: Hi.
Girl 2: Are you a virgin?
Boy: [After a slight pause] No.
Girl 2: OK. Do you have any chapstick?
And that was that.

One of my students asked a student teacher in her science class that same question the other day. After getting chewed out by the “real” teacher, she’s decided to try not to ask people personal questions anymore. I told her that was probably a good idea.

I suppose if he’s been hooching around, I might be less likely to use his chapstick. Kids these days with their rap music and oral herpes.
Of course, the odds of me using someone else’s chapstick are pretty much nil anyways. That’s disgusting. They put their mouth on that.
